Handcraft Teddies
Some very soft rags, of wire to be embroidered, a little foam...
and here is a Teddy !
For my oldest, I had made a caterpillar in the tone matched with his ornament of cradle. It was used to fix my baby so that he sleeps on side and does not rock on the back (it was then the fashion...).
Dice which it could catch it, it became its toy fetish and thus its teddy essential.
| Easy to realize!
|
At the entry of the day nursery, I thus made another caterpillar. The fabric being less elastic, the form remained unchanged. To note: the quite long night-cap to which one can tie baby's dummy !
| |
Caution: no pearls nor buttons for the toddlers : eyes, small noses and mouths must be embroidered...
 |
A little later was born a baby caterpillar... he of success much and was taken along everywhere! |
The patchwork teddy bear (which became the husband of the caterpillar...) always has its place on the bed. By adding foam and before closing,
I slipped a tube of tablet closed with seeds inside. So that this nounours tinkles dice which it is
shaken!
The various members must be added to the trunk uen time filled with foam. A bandana adds to the
look and makes it possible to hide the most difficult seam between the trunk and the bulky head. |
More difficult, to adjust especially
|
For my the smaller, I changed animal and it is with a lapinou (which had well the odor of its mom) that it passed its very first nights.
Easy to make: make the body then once finished, bend the small clothes. I chose for the body a a little thick fabric: difficult to sew but very resistant. |

Cushions in patchwork
To initiate itself with the patchwork, nothing is worth than cushions!
My method? So easy !
Draw geometrical forms on a quarter of squared sheet
Defer by symmetry of the drawing on the totality of the sheet
Number each form by coding the different fabrics which will be used (in my examples there are only 3 linked fabrics:2, 1 flowered matched).
Recopy or photocopy your drawing and cut out all shapes of paper copied
Defer each form on fabrics corresponding by envisaging 1 to 2 cm around for the seams
Using the numbered diagram, gradually assemble the forms by pinning them to help you. Personally, I sew with the hand not being a virtuoso of the sewing machine.
Assemble the back of the cushion (taken on one of fabrics used) the made-to-order of a pillowcase.
Add then a matched plaid, a lamp in same fabrics...
